So, wie versprochen, bist du nun fällig Daniel. Ich habe ja auf meinen Co Moderator bei Facebook gehört und seinen Silent Reaper Zyklus nun als Gesamtwerk namens "Gejagt" gelesen. Lesezeit: Gerade mal drei Tage! (und das obwohl ich auch noch arbeiten durfte)
Die letzten beiden Teile des sechsteiligen Reaper Zykluses hatte ich bewußt nicht mehr gelesen und mir auch jegliches Urteil dazu erspart. Schließlich kamen nicht gerade leicht verdauliche Kommentare zu den von mir geschriebenen Kritiken zu den ersten zwei Teilen, so daß ich auch die kommenden hier nicht renzensierte, da mir dazu schlicht und ergreifend die Lust dazu fehlte. Das wurde damals schon als Majestätsbeleidigung aufgefaßt. Naja, aber Isi nahm das sportlich auf, gab sogar zu, daß nicht alles glücklich gelöst war und empfahl mir das Gesamtwerk nochmals zu lesen.
Ergo, bin ich seiner Empfehlung gefolgt. Wenn ihr die Print Ausgabe erhaltet, werdet ihr von der Dicke des Romanes überrascht. 408 Seiten Battletech pur erwarten uns Leser. Super auch die Bindung, die eine (wie soll ich das am Besten ausdrücken?) Pfalz im Einband aufweist und man so seine Seiten nicht zu sehr umlegt. Das ganze Buch wird durch diesen Kniff ein wenig geschont und man vermeidet die lästige Knickoptik mit durchgescheuertem Coverbild an euren guten Werk. Selbiges entdeckt ihr auch beim Feldhandbuch SBVS.
Okay, soviel dazu. Der Inhalt ist ja fast jedem bekannt, der bereits mit dem Zyklus begann. Die Silent Reaper werden von den Sandovals für eine heikle Mission angeheuert. Sie sollen die hiesige Comstar Anlage auf Capra sabotieren. Diese Art von Aufträgen ist das Markenzeichen der Reapers. Sie machen die Drecksarbeit, infiltrieren, erkunden und sabotieren. Keiner findet sie, doch jeder kennt sie.
Leider geht der Auftrag schief und es kommt, wie es kommen mußte. Die Reapers werden geächtet und verfolgt. Nur Blakes Wort ist bereit die Reapers anzuwerben. Doch ist nicht klar, was sie für das Wort machen müssen, Aufträge sind verschwommen und selbst General Juan McFaris zweifelt an der leutseeligkeit seines Auftraggebers. Während Lucas, Infiltrationsspezialist der Silent Reapers, sich auf die Suche nach den Hintermännern macht, müssen Anori und Sakumoto so manch ein Sträußchen ausfechten.
Unterschiedliche Aufträge, endloses Verwischen der Spuren und ein hochdramatisches Finale mit einem sehr überraschenden Ende, begeistern nun den Leser. Man fiebert mit, was denn aus Sakumoto wird, erlebt nicht nur Kämpfe per Gefechtsrüstungen, spannende Infiltrationen sondern doch das ein oder andere Mechgefecht. Auch werden Freunde der Kombinats über so manch bekannte Organisationen stolpern. Summa Summarum ist der Roman in seiner Gänze lesenswerter als die auseinander gerissene Version als Zyklus in sechs Teilen.
Am Schreibstil des Autors hab ich nie etwas auszusetzen gehabt. Vielmehr störten mich die abrupt und unlogisch beendeten Einzelteile. Ebenfalls fehlt mir trotz des nun doch recht guten Gesamteindruckes die gegnerische Seite. Sie ist leider nie ganz so ausgeprägt beschrieben, wie ich es mir gewünscht hätte. Ein paar Nuancen hätte Daniel Isberner ruhig noch einstreuen können.
Auf jeden Fall hat mich "Gejagt" eher angesprochen als der geteilte Silent Reaper Zyklus. Das Gesamtbild gibt nun einen Roman wieder, der zu den besseren der Battletech Romane zählt. Ich denke schon, daß man sagen kann das Daniel auf Diehl Niveau schreibt. Und Diehl ist für mich persönlich der beste deutschsprachige Autor im Battletech Universum! Deshalb wäre es doch echt nicht schlecht, wenn Ulisses Daniel Isberner einfach für einen weiteren Roman anheuern würde und Catalyst ihn nicht so für diverse Technical Readouts einspannt (damit er einen weiteren Roman verzapfen kann). Also her mit weiteren Jihad Romanen.
Wichtig ist jedoch, daß Ulisses jeglichen Humbuck ala: "Ich zerstückel meinen Roman in einzelne Häppchen!" bei Daniel austreibt. (wir chatteten dahingehend Isi lol) Das war sehr ungeschickt. Vor dem eventuellen Nachfolgewerk sollte Ulisses einen Mitarbeiter abstellen, der ihm suffliert: "Ich teile meinen Roman nicht. Ich teile meinen Roman nicht!....." Natürlich darf man trotzdem gern darüber nachdenken und eine "Heftreihe" bringen, aber dann sollten beide Seiten sich zusammensetzen und die Aufteilung vernünftig machen.
So kaufte man teuer sechs einzelne Teile für rund 12 Euro. Dafür bekommt man die Printausgabe des Silent Reaper Zyklus und das entsprechende Ebook gibt es ja für 9,99 Euro. Nebenbei bemerkt, ist das Ebook (zumindest bei readfy) arg schlecht formatiert. Wörter sind schön zusammen geschoben, wie es auch bereits bei "Riskante Ziele" war. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es ein Problem bei readfy oder ein generelles Manko bei den Ebooks ist.
Jedoch möchte ich noch ein Kompliment los werden. Das Lektorat war dieses Mal sehr gut. Ich kann mich nicht an einen Fehler erinnern. Ich hatte im Buch zwar etwas entdeckt, aber es wieder vergessen wo der Fehlerteufel sich versteckte. Also, war es nichts Gravierendes und mir sind persönlich keine Fehler aufgefallen. Michael Fehrenschild hat hier eine richtig gute Arbeit abgeliefert.
Hoffen wir nun, daß mein Roman euch nicht langweilte (natürlich nur der Blog Roman). Ich darf nun "Gejagt" eine Kaufempfehlung aussprechen und drücke Daniel und dem Team von Ulisses alle Daumen. Schließlich will ja die riesige Pallette mit den Silent Reaper Zyklus verkauft werden. Und ja, ich habe meine negative Meinung fast komplett geändert. Kommt vor und ist Isi zu verdanken.

The last two parts of the six-part cycle Reaper I had deliberately not read and also saves me any judgment to do so. After all, not just easy to digest comments came to me written by reviews of the first two parts, so I do not difference-based also coming here because me to quite simply lacked the desire to. Which was then regarded as already lese majeste. Well, but Isi took the sporty on, even admitted that not everything was solved happy and advised me to read the complete works again.Ergo, I followed his recommendation. If you get the print edition, you will be surprised by the thickness of the novel. 408 pages Battletech pure expect readers. Super also the bond that one (how shall I put the best?) The whole book is protected by this trick a little and avoiding the onerous buckling optics with durchgescheuertem Cover image of your good work. The same also discovered her at the Field Manual SLDF.Okay, so much for that. The content is almost known to everyone who has already started the cycle. The Silent Reaper hired by Sandoval for a delicate mission. They are sabotaging the local Comstar plant on Capra. This type of contract is the hallmark of the Reapers. You do the dirty work, infiltrate, explore and sabotage. No one takes, but everyone knows them.Unfortunately, the job goes wrong and it comes as it had come. The Reapers are outlawed and persecuted. Only the Word of Blake is ready to recruit the Reapers. But it is not clear what they need to do for the word, orders are blurred and even General Juan McFaris doubts the leutseeligkeit his client. While Lucas, the infiltration specialist, makes itself Silent Reapers on a search for the backers, Anori and Sakumoto have to fight so many a nosegay.
Different jobs, endless blurring of traces and a highly dramatic finale with a very surprising end, now inspire the reader. Man with a fever, which is because of Sakumoto, experienced not only by fighting battle armor, but yet the exciting infiltrations or other Mechgefecht. Even friends of the Combine over so many well-known organizations stumble. All in all, the novel is worth reading in its entirety as the torn apart as a cycle version in six parts.
At the writing style of the author I've never had any complaints. Rather bothered me the abrupt and illogical finished items. I also lack the opponent's side, despite the now quite good overall impression. It is, unfortunately, never described as pronounced as I would have liked. A few nuances would Daniel Isberner quiet yet can intersperse.Anyway, I was "hunted" rather than addressed the split Silent Reaper cycle. The overall picture is now a Roman again, one of the better of the Battletech novels. I do think that one can say that Daniel writes on a Diehl level. And Diehl is for me personally the best German-language author in Battletech universe! Therefore, it would be not bad when Ulisses Daniel Isberner would simply hire for another novel and not as Catalyst chucks him for various technical readouts (so he can concoct another novel). So forth with another Jihad novels.But it is important that any Ulisses Humbuck ala: "I zerstückel my novel into individual morsels!" casts at Daniel. (We chatted to the effect Isi lol) That was very clumsy. Before eventual successor work Ulisses should leave an employee who suffliert him: "I do not share my novel I do not share my novel ......!" Of course, you may still like to think about and bring a "booklet series", but then should both sides come together and make the division reasonable.
So they bought expensive six individual parts for around 12 euros. But you get the print edition of Silent Reaper cycle and the corresponding Ebook there are for 9.99 euros. Incidentally, the ebook (at least for readfy) is badly badly formatted. Words are beautiful together as it was already in "Risky objectives". I'm not sure if there is a problem with readfy or a general shortcoming in the eBooks.However, I would like to compliment rid of them. The proofreading this time was very good. I can not remember a mistake myself. Although I had discovered something in the book, but it forgotten where the gremlins hid. So, it was nothing serious and I have personally no errors noticed. Michael Fehr shield has delivered a really good job here.
Let's hope now that my novel was not bored you (of course, only the blog novel). I would now say "Hunted" a buy rating and hit Daniel and the team of Ulisses all thumbs. After all, the huge pallette with the Silent Reaper cycle will be sold. And yes, I have my negative opinion changed almost completely. Occurring and Isi owe.
