Star Wars - The Old Republic

Jetzt bin ich wieder einmal zu den Star Wars Romanen zurück gekehrt. Die Orginal Triologie und die Fortsetzung der Star Wars Reihe durch unzählige Schriftsteller begleiteten mich in den 90er neben Battletech. Dabei las ich sehr gern die Thrawn Triologie, Callista Trioligie und Jedi Akademie. Die neueren Romane habe ich bisher vernachlässigt. Mit Jedi Padawan oder Clone Wars hatte ich nichts am Hut.

Nun wollte ich endlich wieder einmal einen richtigen Science Fiction Roman lesen. Mitten in einen bestehenden Zyklus wollte ich nicht einsteigen. Also suchte ich erst einmal weiter. Dabei stolperte ich über die Reihe "The Old Republik". Siehe da, der erste Roman, auch wenn er bereits 2010 erschien und ich den nie entdeckte, hat es echt in sich. Nach noch nicht einmal 100 von 448 Seiten, bin ich bereits hin und weg.

The Old Republic ist ja gut 3500 Jahre vor dem Aufstieg Darth Vaders angesiedelt und vermittelt ein völlig anderes Star Wars Gefühl. Imperium und Republik bilden ja dort (wie euch aus dem Online Game bekannt ist) zwei große Machtblöcke. Nach dem Friedensvertrag zwischen Imperium und Republik versucht die Republik wieder ihre einstige Stärke zurück zu gewinnen und das Imperium arbeitet genau am Gegenteil. Wie immer mischen die Hutts mit und man wird in ein spannendes Universum versetzt.

Bisher ist die Handlung genial gemacht und ich tappe noch im Dunkeln, was das Geheimnis von Lema Xandret der Androidenbauerin und dem Raumschiff Cinzia ist. Dao Stryver (ein Mandalorianer) und Eldo Ax (eine Sith Schülerin) versuchen ebenso das Geheimiss zu lüften, wie Satele Shan, Shigar Konshi und die ehemalige Elitesoldatin Larin Moxla. Ula, der Spion spielt irgendwie ein zweideutiges Spiel. Einerseits ist er ein Spion des Imperiums und andererseits versucht er einen geheimnisvollen Planeten der Ministerin schmackhaft zu machen. Echt spannend.
 
Ich glaube, ich werde zu diesem Roman doch eine seperate Renzession bringen. Fakt ist eines: Sean Williams fesselt mich in seinem Roman "Eine unheilvolle Allianz". Und das von der 1. Seite an. Bei mir ist es wirklich so, daß ich binnen der ersten Seiten schon die Entscheidung fälle, ob ein Roman topp oder flopp ist. Manchmal sollte ich erst die Leseprobe lesen, statt sofort zu kaufen (siehe Schwert der Wahrheit). Bei The Old Republc kann ich echt sagen, daß dies ein gelungener Zyklus ist. Ich bin versucht, mir auch die Nachfolge Romane zu kaufen. Nur gut, daß es nur 3 Romane gibt, sonst würde ich von Battletech abfallen. Das will was heißen!

Jetzt lese ich erst einmal weiter und schreib später noch ein wenig zu dem Roman "Eine unheilvolle Allianz". Wer nicht darauf warten möchte, der kann getrost zuschlagen. Es ist bisher ein absolut geniales Werk.

And I stumbled on the series "The Old Republic". Lo and behold, the first novel, even if it appeared in 2010 and the I never discovered it really contained. After not even 100 of 448 pages, I'm already blown away.

The Old Republic is located so good 3500 years before the rise of Darth Vader and Star Wars gives a completely different feeling. Empire and Republic are indeed there (as you well known in the online game is) two major power blocs. After the peace treaty between the Empire and Republic Republic is trying to regain its former strength back and the Empire works exactly in the opposite. As always mix with the Hutts, and one is placed in an exciting universe.So far, the story made brilliant and I still groping in the dark, what is the secret of the Lema Xandret Androidenbauerin and the spaceship Cinzia. Dao Stryver (a Mandalorian) and Eldo Ax (a Sith student) also trying to unravel the Geheimiss as Satele Shan, Shigar Konshi and the former elite Larin Moxla. Ula, who plays spy somehow an ambiguous game. On the one hand he is a spy of the Empire, and on the other hand he tries to make a mysterious planet of the Minister tasty. Really exciting.I think I'll bring this novel but a separate Renzession. Fact one: Sean Williams captivates me in his novel "An unholy alliance". And that of the first Page. For me it is really true that I already falls within the first few pages to decide whether a novel is top or flopp. Sometimes I should just read the excerpt, instead of buying immediately (see Sword of Truth). At The Old Republc I can say truly that this is a successful cycle. I'm tempted to buy me the successor novels. Good thing there are only 3 novels, otherwise I would fall off of Battletech. That's saying something!I read once more later and write a little about the novel "An unholy alliance". Who does not want to wait for the strike can confidently. It's been an absolutely brilliant work.
